Great Photo Pro – Best all-in-one photo editor App Reviews

It is very fincky when saving edited pictures. The features it does have are very user friendly and fun. I have tried to save one picture everywhere I can, multiple times and when I open the picture up in the new location, there is no image and it is all white. Once this problem is resolved I will give it 5 stars.

Good as far as it goes. Needs more editing tools, more templates, and a print function.

I am not sure why this is happening, but it is really frustrating especially after spending an hour editing photos only to check the work later to find that they were saving completely messed up. For example, I can go through photos and export them or save them to another folder without making changes, but the second I use the Big Aperture feature, it sticks with every photo. I am also seeing a problem where the saving of the photo only saves half of it… like a partially scanned picture. Im hoping for some help on this issue, but if not I really would like a refund. If they fix this problem, I will do another review….

Short review: Let me start off by saying the photo editing tools in this program are fantastic! the slider bars available are so in depth, more than any other ive seen. (tint, temperature, saturation, sharpness, color, shadow, sooooo many more at least like 45 different controls to create your own filter effects. filters provided are ok to good, there couldve been more, especially more like the kraft paper one its cool but id like for them to mix it up with more of those grainy filters. missing and lacking a few key features to make it a great program though. ---- For the bugs that are needed to be fixed in order for me to raise my rating would be these: you cant scroll through filter with arrow keys nor is there an arrow button to just click and move to next, its very annoying to have to take your eyes off the picture and move your mouse above the next filter and click. when you "open with…" "/ great photo" to a picture it doesnt open the picture, it just opens the program normally. you can however drag a photo into the program while its open. just a little annoying. would be nice to have a simple drawing pen like a simple paint feature with different size brushes and stuff, this especially ticks me off because they trick you into thinking the program has such a feature from the little pencil tool in the menu, Wrong, i feel a little played :( multiple layers at once can not be done, you have to pick a layer, save photo, re open photo, pick another layer, and hope the new layer looks like you thought it would with the other layer or you have to do that over again. therefore supporting my "too few layers" claim earlier. either get more layers or multilayer it up. however, for their sake you can adjust all those effect sliders on each layer. aside from a few select ones. most of the borders and vignettes are a little cheesy. i would never use at least half the borders and vignettes. cant rotate images to a percentage only 90 degrees Additional greats points: Amazing aperture, i didnt think i would use this but they made it really easy and customizable Great asset to this program. which sets it apart from others. Great color splash feature closest thing to a "paint" tht it would have different size brushes, zoom in, fades, soft brush, hard lines, although ive had it crash a few times while in the color splash zoomed in really far with a tiny brush it seems to crash consistently. Overall this is a powerful photo editing program. with a little love from the programmers they could have perfection though. i would love to give this more stars but the simple fixes are just holding that back.

Just paid for/downloaded it a few minutes ago. It has crashed four times in a row just from getting bogged down trying to move the slider bar to go through a folder of pictures. I havent even had the chance to do anything with a picture yet--VERY frustrating coming from a highly-rated app that I paid for.

Bought this app for just 1 purpose: HDR. Keeps crashing, therefore useless for me.

On the Mac App store this looks like its super easy to use. I have bought in the past the HDR Darkroom, and now Great Photo, none of these are nearly close to simplicity of editing the HDR photo at all. I would keep this software if only there was some kind of help/tutorial online that would enable me to learn it. Otherwise I would not recommend this to anyone.

The app works well, but it strips out any GPS locations embedded into the photos and importing into iPhoto is a pain. These additions would really make this application great. I like the relatively simply editing tools.

When compared to other photo apps on the Mac store, this one really shines. I am a long-time photoshop user and have recently scrapped many of my common tasks within it for apps like this one, that take a 10 step process down to one. I got it on sale, so I am an especially happy camper. Things I love: -Aperature and vignetting functionality. These make your images look fantastic in seconds and are very simple to navigate / use. -No problems managing larger images. -Fine edits. White balance is a huge issue for me when I use my longer lens indoors. I was surprised to see how detailed you can get adjusting curves, etc. So if youre a nitty gritty techie kind of person, looks like the developers kept you in mind. Wish list: -Customization of effects and features is one area I would like to see more of, particularly the vignettes. I realize who this is desined for, generally speaking, but there are many cases where I do not want to change the image colors while adding a vignette. I would also like to be able to specify the vignette through simple drawing, adding or subtracting strength, blur, etc. -For white balance editing, specify a white or black point within the image itself (like an eyedropper) instead of having to eyeball it. Adding a grey point would be nice, as well. -Collage customization. Ablity to create my own scheme and get rid of borders. Overall I am satisfied with the ease of use and lack of struggle offered here, cutting out many time consuming and annoying tasks in photoshop. Thanks.

This is a really good program however the reason for the 2 stars is that the program crashes when saving a file after editing. If they would fix this bug I would give the program 5 stars but without being able to save this program is almost worthless.

I teach Photoshop but need to show programs that do not cost +$600 which are useful for working on images on a Mac. This one is very, very easy to learn and use and does some interesting and useful effects that would take much more skill and time in Photoshop to duplicate. Nice job by the programmers to make this a fun and useful tool at an incredible price.

I must be missing something. All I want is a photo editing program that really works. I want to take one photo, make it a background, and crop & paste another photo onto it. Simple, but I cant find any photo editing program that does it. This program does all the basic stuff that all the others do. When I saw thew "collage" feature advertised, I thought I could do more, but this doesnt give me any option, you have to use some really cheesy looking background with holiday/family themes. it doesnt make sense to me. I havent tried too many for MAC, as I am new to MAC, but I find this paticular AP difficult work in. If I edit a photo, I want to SAVE, not have to close, and then ask to save. I want to save in steps, but there doesnt seem to be a way to do it. Also if I move a photo (it seems only way is one at a time) into bottom tool bar, when I close and go back, they are not there & I have to do it all over again. what a waste of time. I cannot understand what everyone likes so much about this program. I tried to use HDR function, and it tells me my files have to be same size & type…really? I just want to have fun. if you want to have fun, dont buy this.

HDR doesnt work with one RAW file?? :-(

I wanted an app that did a little more than iPhoto and didnt want to spend a lot of money. This is hit both of those right on the head. I like the aperture, filters, frames, color splash (really, really, really like color splash). Ive already edited some photographs I liked and now they are outstanding. A couple of things on my wish list for the next version: 1. ADD A SAVE BUTTON. I would like to be able to save my projects throughout, not just after closing. Very, very annoying. 2. add the ability to layer. After applying color splash just the way I like, I would like to be able to layer on aperture. Instead you have to close the photo to save it. Then re-open the photo you just edited, and add the next effect. Also very annoying, but not as annoying as the process to save it. 3. add the ability to crop the aperture. When using the architecture filter I would like to be able to crop it to a small square instead of having this long rectangle. 4. make it easier to locate the photos you want to work on. you have to choose open files and then scroll through all your photos to find the one you want. would be nice it linked better to iPhoto. overall, if you are looking for some basic features to make your photos stand out, this is worth the price. It is very easy to use.

The utter an complete lack of any - ANY - help files or tutorials is inecusable. Trying to use it but it saves my photos as mirror images, doesnt offer the collages the same as depicted and its just too difficult to use. Wish I could get my money back.

What a fantastic app, totally beyond my mind! This is best HDR effect I have ever used, the light and shadows detail is brilliant! The other features are also very easy to achieve amazing images! Great photo, Great app!

I just purchased this App. After attempting to add 2 images when setting up a collage, the app crashes everytime. I mainly purchased it for the collage, but cant even use it. How can i get my money back?

This app has a cookie cutter quality to it. If you like simple and easy with not too many options, its for you. If you are looking for something to work with to be creative, dont waste your money. I dont like the lack of options.
